This bottle was offered by bobey at rbwg. Black appearance with a dark brown head. Coconut, oak, caramel, and chocolate in the nose. Medium full body. Moderate high sweetness and moderate bitterness. Plenty of chocolate, fudge, whiskey, and oak. Good.

On tap at Sprenger’s Tap Room. Pours a hazy orange gold with medium frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is strong tropical fruit and floral. Medium mouth, juicy, grapefruit, tangerine, light bitterness, very nice.

Draft - Citrus peel and a bit dank. Clear gold with a decent white head. Weedy, dank notes and bitterness that fades quickly. Decent.

650ml bottle. Dark brown colour with ruby red glimmer and average, thick, creamy, fairly lasting and lacing, beige head. Chocolately, dark malty aroma, hints of milk chocolate, some dark chocolate, cocoa, an earthy spicy touch of blueberry and liquorice. Taste is slightly sweet dark malty, chocolately, dry hints of cocoa, a touch of blueberry and liquorice; rich, full bodied, integrated, slightly sticky palate.

32oz growler pours with a near clear copper body that supports a light tan head. The aroma offers up inviting peach, mango, a touch of strawberry and a danky pine sort of sensation. The taste is smooth and thick and quickly gets into mango, cantaloupe, peach and growing into pine and sticky onion dankness. This is juicy, bitter and spicy. I’m digging this. Thick big and a great sipper.

32oz growler pours with a deep dark body that supports a weak mocha colored head. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts, burnt malts, black strap molasses and chocolate followed by black licorice and some booze at the end of the draw. The taste is similar with pleasing dark roasted malts to burnt malts and chocolate, fudge brownie and molasses. Very nice. This is roasty and rich and deep with goodness as the palate is as smooth as a baby’s bottom. Solid roasty sipper that really really sneaks up on you.

From a 75 cl bottle shared at home. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of licorice and bourbon. Flavors of dark stone fruits, oak and vanilla. Sweet, boozy finish.

Bottle. Deep, dark roasted malt. It’s all burnt sugars and vanilla and fudgey chocolatey goodness. The beer is black from wall to wall. Very small head. It was hard to kick up any substantial blanket of bubbles even with a vigorous pour. Only a thin layer of bubbles remains after a minute or so. Lots of vanilla in the aroma. Sweet bourbon barrel blends into the chocolate and caramel sweetness nicely. Taste is sweet and full of big stout. Some mild but definite maple complexity. Lots of dark, sweet sugars. Excellent interaction between the stout and the barrel flavors. Smooth, full mouthfeel. Very well made.
