Description
Hangar 24 began its craft brewing exploration with a true passion for good beer, the absolute love of flying and the pure enjoyment of being around great friends. My buddies and I used to meet at hangar No. 24 at the Redlands Municipal Airport, after an afternoon of flying, to trade stories, talk aviation, play music and share a few cold ones that were recently home brewed. These days, the location of where the beers are brewed has changed, but the quality time spent enjoying a delicious, handcrafted beer and conversation with friends is the same as ever. I personally want to invite you to join the adventure. Cheers! Ben Cook.

Almost clear deep amber brown beer, decent bubbly tan head. Smooth and airy palate, fairly dry, reasonable fine minerally carbonation. Airy dark malts, a nice blend of dark chocolate and milk chocolate malts, about 65% and 35%. The bourbon is smooth and well rounded and is nicely ripe fruit laden. A light and fairly dry finish. Nice job. This bottle is 15 years old and the some and yet remains smooth and fairly fresh and shows zero signs of oxidisation. Light but rich and drinkalble.

Bottled@PBF XII. Ambery golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, sygart and some mild spiciness with a wee bit of anise or liquorice root. Flavour is fruity, floral, nectary with some sweet malts as well as some toffee. Nice nectary and somewhat bitter finish.

Bottle split at Columbus, thanks to Kenny, 31/07/19. Lightly hazed golden amber with a creamy white cap. Nose is caramel, fruit cake, nutty, sweet malts, brown bread, sugars. Taste comprises mellow bourbon, caramel, dried fruits, dates, prunes, spice, rye barrel notes. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a kiss of alcohol and a lingering barrel effect. Decent but perhaps a little tired.

Tasting at Salesforce, courtesy of Sergey, bottle #309/384, batch 1, 15.5% ABV, rye 8 months brandy 12 months, Dec 2018
Black colour, small head. Aroma of dark chocolate, cacao, spirit, deep. Full bodied, but with so much alcohol it's not thick; dark chocolate flavour, rye, notes of vanilla and hints of cinnamon.
Very good.

Black colour, no head. Medium body, mild sweetness; cacao and chocolate flavour (and aroma), but there are signs of age, of oxidation, some tobacco; the alcohol is too boozy, but this may be a typical problem with brandy barrels. Not cohesive.

Black colour. There is some liquorice in the aroma, along with the dark chocolate. Full bodied, it's moderately sweet, the dark chocolate and cacao flavour is strong, the alcohol is prominent too, maybe some hint of coconut.
Good, but not elegant, like all other Pugachevs.

Poured from 500mL bottle (Dec 2018; batch 1; bottle # 309/384). Black with dissipating beige head, touch of sediment. Very similar to the Pugachev Royale with mild vanilla. Brandy dominant, a bit of rye, mild vanilla. Quite nice.
