On cask at the Guildford Arms. Appearance - golden with a nice lacy head. Nose - meadow flowers and custard. Taste - bitter lime pickle thing. Dry biscuit. Palate - light to medium bodied with a tangy astringent middle and finish. Overall - a bit too challenging this one.

500ml bottle from Cross Lanes Farm Shop. Hazy golden colour, bubbly white foam head that dissipates away and aroma of malt, grain, fruity hop. Taste is malt caramel, some grain, tangy, sourish, with fruity blackcurrant and earthy orange hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry fruity citric bitter finish. Quite OK English IPA.

500ml bottle. Amber gold colour, white foam head leaving alittle lacing and aroma of malt, citric. Taste is malt, caramel, fruity, citrus notes, with earthy grassy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry spicy bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

[ As McColl's Best Bitter ]. ABV: 4.4%. Clear medium yellow colour with a average, frothy - fizzy, good to fair lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, fruity malt, citrus, fruity hops. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, citrus - peach, fruity, pale malt, sweet malt. Handpull cask at Broood at the Prince of Wales, Hinckley. Dark gold bordering on copper, incredibly clear. Low aroma of caramel and orange peel. Taste is a bit bitter and spicy with grainy and vegetal notes nearer to the finish. It has a nice mouthfeel for the strength: oily but far from thin. Not a bad beer by any means but it has issues that keep it from being the beer it could be...
