Canned (from Systembolaget Avion Umeå, thanks Jonathan!). Deep amber colour, small brown head. Aroma is toffeeish, mild toasted tones with some berries too. Flavour is chocolaty, some toasted tones, mild grains and some bready elements. Crisp and quite refreshing. Somewhat dry palate.

440 ml can. Pours light hazed gold with an enormous white foam. Way overcarbed. Aroma: malty, citrus, earthy, a smidge floral. Taste: light to moderate sweet with towards moderate bitterness, citrus, grapefruit, hoppy finish. Dry on the palate. Medium body with ridiculous carbonation. Nice west coast hints here.

Nice. Easy going, not so twiggy as the Japanese nelson beers seem to be recently. Not so much lager character but it’s decent.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 13th December 2023. Deep brown to black with tan foam and spot lacing. Roast malt aroma. Roastiness, spices, smokes and dark chocolate in-mouth, and a mild, roasty finish. Light bodied for a stout, with a smooth mouthfeel.
