Description
Based in Swindon and nearby Cricklade, the Hop Kettle Brewing Co. was founded by Tom Gee.
With over two decades of experience in hospitality, we have the insider’s understanding of the drinks industry, and the technical knowledge required to create one-of-a-kind brews. Rather than seeing beer as an established product in an established industry, we see it as a drink with no end of potential and variety. Hop Kettle Brewing Co. represents our means of exploring the possibilities of brewing, using a diverse range of ingredients to create beers with unique flavour profiles.

Bottle from the brewery online shop. Appearance - golden with a generous white head. Nose - light orange and caramel, gentle brown bread. Taste - light caramel with hints of lemon and biscuit. Palate - light to medium bodied. Light bitterness on the finish. Overall - everything a bit subtle and slightly sweet but nonetheless lightly enjoyable.

Bottle from the brewery online shop. Appearance - deep amber. Decent lacing. Nose - toffee and malt loaf. Taste - malt loaf and dried fruit. Palate - light to medium bodied, sweet and malty. Overall - decent if a bit sweet.

Bottle from the brewery online shop. Appearance - golden with a nicely proportioned white head. Nose - pine, lemon and caramel. Taste - caramel, mainly. Palate - light to medium bodied, a bit sweet. Overall - a bit too sweet for the style.

500 ml bottle, from English Heritage Shop. ABV is 4.2%. Golden colour, moderate white head. Unusual fruity aroma, as promised there are notes of banana, pear, melon and strawberry. Hoppy and refreshing flavour, medium dry, notes of citrus, also hints of said fruits from the aroma, moderately bitter finish. 500 ml bottle, from English Heritage. ABV is 4.8%. Slightly hazy pale golden colour, moderate to small white head. Distinct aroma of passion fruit. Crisp and citric flavour, notes of passion fruit, but the beer is more dry than sweet. Moderate hops, very refreshing.

Half-pint, cask at Hop Inn. Shared with Finn. A beige bubbly head to a deep black body, spotty lacing on the glass. Mid-sweet chocolate nose. Chocolate flavours on a backbone of lactose. Hints pf dark berries to a malt-driven finish. Medium bodied. Pleasing. (Swindon 26.10.2019).
