Bottle from Waitrose, Eastbourne. Pours a clear golden colour with a thin bubbly white head. Aromas of floral and biscuits with a touch of caramel and hints of citrus. Taste is again very floral with perfume notes with hints of caramel and biscuits. Very malty, sweet and no bitterness. Medium body, low carbonation and fairly smooth mouthfeel. I am not overly keen on this one.

Bottle from Co-op, Eastbourne. Pours a clear amber colour with a medium sized throthy white head. Aromas of toffee, caramel, sweet jam and a touch of floral. Taste has more toffee, caramel and floral with notes of fruit salad sweets and a slight earthy hop on the finish. Medium to full body, low carbonation and smooth mouthfeel. Not bad but also nothing special.

Bottle from Co-op, Eastbourne. Pours a very dark brown almost black colour with a medium sized creamy beige head. Aromas of caramel, dry dark fruits, chocolate, coffee, liquorice and roasted malts. Taste has lots of liquorice and more of the other notes from the aroma with an added touch of brown sugar. Quite rich. Medium body, low carbonation and smooth slightly oily mouthfeel. Ok but too much liquorice notes for my liking.

Cask-conditioned at the Lord John (JDW), Stroud, 7 July 2022. Amber in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Aroma of leafy hops, caramel and ripe malts. Flavour had some berry fruits, biscuity, digestive, malts, leading to a moderately bitter finish. Fine.
