Pendle Beer Festival 2016. Golden coloured, very light and very easy drinking bitter, with a very light bitterness. A touch thin tasting.

Cask at Chippenham Beer Festival. Deep brown. Yay- found a mild amongst the last few undrunk barrels at the tail end of the last night of the fest. It’s dark brown, maybe a little watery but with pleasant flavours of chocolate, malt and a light roastiness. Very easy to knock this one back. You really can imagine slaking your thirst with this after a day down the mines.

Cask at the fleece, Penwortham. I imagine the name of this is supposed to be funny because it has the word ’cock’ in it. It would be a better beer if it wasn’t quite so bland and thin. Honey and lazy near-puns are the two things I hate in beer most of all.

Cask at the fleece, Penwortham. Hahaha, you guys are HILARIOUS. Knocker up, geddit? It’s like getting someone pregnant with your child! Oh, top bantz. Kudos. Kudos squared. Awesomeness beyond time itself. Regardless of the Archbishop of Banterbury that comes up with the names for these products, what we have here is a clear brown beer with a thin tan head, honey aroma, faint chocolate at the back. Clean finish. Just get the names into the 21st century lads, eh?

Cask @ Black Bull, Blackburn. Clear golden with a creamy head. Crisp and very light textured ale, sessionable but not high on any flavours giving it a thinnish feel in the palate. Has a berry sweet nose.

Cask @ Black Bull, Blackburn. Dark red with a thick creamy head. Has a sweetened nose with darker berry aromas evident. It’s less stated in its taste -similar but with an overriding crispness.

Clitheroe Beer Festival 2015. Dark copper coloured. Has a sweetened aroma and taste with sugars and a caramel malt. Fairly good.
