Description
Commenced brewing 1997 at the Drunken Duck, which is the principal outlet but the beers are also supplied direct on a non-permanent basis to about 80 pubs in the region. The Kings Arms (Cartmel) and the Tower Bank Arms (Sawrey) are permanent outlets for Tag Lag. Three beers - Chesters Strong & Ugly, Tag Lag and Red Bull Terrier - are available in bottles. The remainder of the output is cask but the brewery is looking to expand the bottled range.

Cask @ Luton Beer & Cider Festival. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty and light hoppy - grass. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 160218

Cask @ 35th Luton Beer & Cider Festival. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are fruits, malt, hops, caramel and has a light bitter finish.

Pendle Beer Festival 2018. Has a sweet nose and some berry-fruit flavours. Deeper amber coloured with a bitter-sweet taste.

Cask @ GBBF 2017. Pours a pale amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma. Fruity malty caramel flavor with weak hoppy hints. Has a fruity malty caramel finish.

Sampled @ GBBF 2017, Day 1. A clear copper beer with a small off-white head. Aroma of toasted dark brown malt, caramel. Taste of caramelish malt, nuts, mild bitter hops, nice.

Catching up on ratings from GBBF 2016. From cask. Poured black with a small off-white head. Roasted malt, toffee, chocolate and liquorice aroma. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness, Medium bodied, creamy texture. Enjoyed this one.

Cask at GBBF ’16, day two, 10/08/16. Black with a decent tan head. Nose is roast malts, charr, dark chocolate, grains, light spice. Taste comprises bitter roast, toffee, spice, light charring, cocoa powder. Medium body, fine carbonation, drying close. Decent enough offering.
