Bottle from the Cartmel village shop. Appearance - golden with a proportionate head. Nose - lemon sorbet and honey malt. Taste - honey not cornflakes with a lemon note which could be drier if I’m honest. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - decent if slightly sweeter than preferred.

On cask at the Wateredge. Appearance - golden amber with a decent head. Nose - very elusive just pale malt. Taste - more malt than citrus and there is malt astringency. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture but an astringent finish. Overall - sadly this was the least inspiring beer of the 5 this lunchtime which doesn’t really fall in line with the general ratings. So I’ll try it again next time I see it.

Gravity dispense at the Happy Man May ’14 BF, Englefield Green, 22/05/14. Clear chestnut brown with reddish hues an a good sized light beige covering, good lacing ensues. Nose is rich caramel, biscuit, fruit loaf. Taste comprises candied orange peel, more fruitloaf, caramel, light spice. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, light bitterings in the close. Adequate ESB.

Cask gravity at Planet Thanet BF 2014. Black beer thin tan head. Liquorice aroma. Some smoke meat in the mouth. Yep not much condition either. It’s ok just not my aroma but it gets better as ut goes on some dryness but also quite juicy. Ok

GBBF Day 3. Lightly hazy gold beer, good white head. Palate is light and semi dry. Good fine carbonation. The pale malt is slightly sweet. Light noble hop bitterness, slightly floral. Subtle bubblegum ester. Finishes dry with a reasonable bitter linger.
