[Cask at the Cumberland Hotel, Alston] Smells almost stout-like, with coffee and malt aromas. Flavour gives toffee followed by a leafy, hoppy bitterness that doesn’t sit well with the pleasant aroma. Disappointing.

[Cask at the Cumberland Hotel, Alston] Malty, some dusty, earthy hops come through in finish. A reasonable session bitter, if a little dull.
