Description
From its location in the heart of the Northamptonshire, the Great Oakley Brewery produces a wide range of first-class, award winning real ales.

Founded in 2005 in the small village of Great Oakley, this family-run business moved to Tiffield in 2012 where it continues to build the brewery’s excellent reputation. Over the years it has gone from strength to strength with its beers winning a number of prestigious awards.

Gravity cask at Bedford Beer Festival 2022. Pours deep brown with a beige cap. Aroma: nuts, brown bread, dried fruits, hint of chocolate. Taste: light sweet & bitter, brown bread, caramel, toffee, nutty. Medium body with soft carbonation. Good one.

Cask at the Great British Beer Festival 2017 - London. Pours yellow with a light, creamy white head. The nose holds pale grains, white bread. Lightly sweet with some grassy hops, dirty hay. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Grassy bitterness to finish. So so.

Cask at GBBF '22 day 4, 05/08/22. Dark mahogany brown with a decent beige cap that veers to a swirl. Nose is nutty, cocoa dusting, brown bread, dried fruits. Taste comprises baking powder, earthy fruits, tobacco, brown bread, toffee. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, light drying close. Solid mild.

18/3/2022. Cask at the Pomfret Arms, Northampton. Pours clear mahogany brown with a small bubbly/frothy off-white to beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruits, molasses, ash, liquorice, nut. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, oily, soft carbonation. Good.

18/3/2022. Cask at the Pomfret Arms, Northampton. Pours clear dark gold with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma of golden syrup, sweet toffee, malt, butter, grass, touch of honey. Medium plus sweetness, light to moderate bitterness. Medium body, sticky mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Some increasing bitterness to finish, still a bit too sweet but quite enjoyable

18/3/2022. Served from BIAB at the Pomfret Arms, Northampton. Pours slightly hazy pale golden with a small bubbly white head. Aroma is fresh, citrus, floral, malty, straw. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness, sligghtly peppery edge. Moderate body, soft carbonation. Nice bittersweet finish. Quite impressed with this.
