26th September 2008. Light palate but full bodied ale. A dry finish but the body makes this very drinkable.

Cask from The Oak, Horsley Woodhouse, Derbyshire 16-05-09 bottled at the pub by dad and brought along to mine Pours dark chesnut, has lost some sparkle on the journey but still in fair nick. Quite bitter, a stick like woodland bitterness, earthy and rustic in fact lets not beat about the bush its quite rough around the edges, the alcohol is quite prominent. This would never win a prize for finesse. Malt and alcohol really dominate with the bitterness, its ok but hard work and I don’t think I would have managed with a pint of this. A6 A3 F5 P3 Ov11 2.8

Cask gravity at White Cliffs BF 09. Ruby colour, thin beige head. Some vomit on aroma. Doesn’t taste of 10%, good fruit. Nice sourness. It’s good, bit of dark choc. Choccy dark fruit improves as it goes on. Really opens up.
