Friday 1st Feb 2019; 7th Pre-Brugge Bier Festival International Beer Swap, De Bierboom. This is one of the many bottles that landed on my table for me to try, it is OK to take a decent sized sample (within reason) because there are so many beers to share. Amber/Bronze body, beige head. Malty like it's brother (Strong Monk), caramel and toffee aromas and flavours in a fairly sweet brew all round. A bit more going on in this beer compared to the Strong Monk with some fruity notes and a light bitterness towards the finish.

Slight haze to the amber body, weak white head. Malty little number with caramel to the fore in both the aroma and taste, mild herbal twist in the flavour. My sweet tooth liked it, but surrounded by so many 'good beers' this didn't really hold it's own.

Sample from 33 cl bottle. Pitch black with a thick tanned head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, fruits and dark malts. Taste is sweet. Medium bodied. Drying sweet finish. Middle of the road.

33 cl bottle. Pours hazy brown, small tan head. Aroma is toasted malty, caramelish. Breadish. Toasted malty. Dry and roasted finish. Bitter and toasted malty finish.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, malt, and caramel, leading to a bitter finish.

Sample from 50 cl bottle. Slightly hazy golden colour with a thin white head. Sweet aroma with fruits and an medicinal note. Taste is sweet. Medium bodied. Dry, fruity finish with an unpleasant medicinal note. Poor.
