750ml bottle I picked up at La Cerveceteca in Barcelona. Pours a hazy orange with some creamy, white head. Nose has some fusel character, white grape, brandy, some wood, a little butter, vegetal. Flavor has white grapefruit, some grapes, some mild funk, straw, vegetal. Could probably have been barreled longer.

On tap @Stavio (Rome). Cloudy light amber appearance with a medium off-white head. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, fruity (apple, grapes), with grassy notes, yeasts, biscuits. Flavour is similar, a medium malt profile with a medium to light bitter end... a pumped English Pale Ale with an american touch. Medium body, medium to light carbonation. Overall nice.

Bottle at the DC Expanded Sour Tasting. Hazy yellow with off-white head. Aromas of herbs, spice, oak. Tastes of floral notes, herbs, spice. Light body with a dry finish.

From a 50 cl bottle shared at Travlr’s sour beer tasting. Pours a hazy gold with an off white head. Plastic notes in the nose. Plastic flavors. OOF.

Bottle sample @ Leuven Beer Innovation 2015, shared with the RB Belgian crew. Cuivrée, col beige. Bière au profil malté, citronné et agrumes avec un accompagnement finement herbacé, amertume peu convaincante pour une bitter. Retrouve une fin de bouche un peu aigrelette qui porte une marque boisée, citra est léger et assez ’off’ comme usage en amertume compte tenu de son caractère fruité.

New rate - Quintessence 2016. Trouble dorée, col fin blanc. Arôme au nez fruité et fermenté rappelant la pêche et abricot, sorte de brett et léger funk lambic en rétro. Palais offre une barrique modéré légère impression de fruits concentrés, note de cave, sec et terreux, fruits à noyaux. Pamplemousse avec une petite note lambic sur la fin. Semble que seuls ces versions usant de lambic Cantillon sortent du lot. Bottle sample @ Leuven Beer Innovation 2015, shared with the RB Belgian crew. Orangée-cuivrée, pas de col. Arôme est malté, caramel, léger funk de lambic en rétro. Fleuri modéré des houblons nobles. Palais est assez faiblard avec quasi aucune effervescence, malt léger avec un palais rappelant un peu une sorte de pot d’argile.Petite note boisée venant peut-être du lambic. Le tout reste très faible au niveau aigrelet et juste une petite note sèche de lambic se fait noter. Fini poudreux. Sans plus, et manque de convaincre. Arrêtez de mélanger du lambic avec n’importe quoi. 6-2-6-2-13 5/25/15
