Description
The brewery is still a small family run operation and currently employs over 20 people. The business was set up by Shane and Alison Parr, with lots of help from Iain and Anne Reid (Alison’s parents) and Innes Reid (Alison’s brother), but we survive and thrive on the great crew we have working with us.

Our brewing plant capacity has been upgraded over the years and now is now 100 brewer’s barrels (28,800 pints) per week, which allows us to meet demand during peak periods. In 2013 we constructed a purpose built, energy efficient brew house, and we’re always looking for ways to improve our environmental impact by saving water and energy.

500ml bottle in Anthony's of Wellington on 29th October 2022. Light haze to the golden body, snow white crown. Fruity with a tropical citrus leaning in both the aroma and taste, liked it!

500ml bottle from Anthony's of Wellington; BB 17th February 2023. Drank at home on 27th May 2022. Dark brown body, weak tanned foam on top. Malty, semi-sweet and decent body depth (not lager thin like some in this style). Enjoyed it.

Bottle from Appleyards Delicatessen, Shrewsbury. Golden with a carbonation and a thinnish head. Although hints of citrus are available its quite a soapy brew with its pasteurisation perhaps impacting too much on taste. Never that flavoursome, it's ok enough to drink. It has some fruitiness in its aroma to enjoy.

Cider Freak Day, Sunday 3rd April 2022. I hosted a cider tasting with my good lady, or son, his girlfriend and my sister-in-law (who didn't really join in much). 500ml bottle from Anthony's of Wellington; Stonehouse appear to have dropped the 'Sweeney Mountain' name, they have on this bottle anyway. It was fine and tasted of apples!

500ml bottle: BB 1st September 2022. Drank at home on 25th March 2022. Bought in Anthony's of Wellington. Light hazy look to the golden body, decent white head. The hops rule the nose and taste, grapefruit and lemons esters hints at first (in both the aroma and flavours); some sweeter citrussy bits later. Turns a little bitter in the finish, as the latter-day sweetness dies away!

500ml bottle from Stonehouse Brewery. Hazy gold complexion, white head. Nicely smooth on the palate with fruity exotic hop notes coming through but has an earthy feel, and lacks a clear harmonious hop character.

Pint @ Stonehouse Brewery with Eric, Sylvie and Sophie. Got some limier shades this time around, nicely flavoursome, great Simcoe expressions. March 17th 22: 500ml bottle from Stonehouse Brewery. Pours clear gold with a rocky white head. Pleasantly fruity hop aroma, good Simcoe hop notes coming through to taste, subtle pineapple, citrus oil. Flavoursome session IPA overall.

Keg @ Stonehouse Brewery. Pours a cola brown, no head or bubbles at all. In fact, next to my partner's diet coke there was no difference in appearance between the two. Really nice malty profile, subtle grainy moments, a nip of toast, could do with a little more carbonation, coldness seems to mask a bit of the sweetness, but decent overall.

500ml bottle from Spar, Llanfyllin. Stonehouse's first sour beer, exciting times! Proper murky orange appearance, thin whitehead. Light fruity nose, juice suggestions. Decent passionfruit to taste, gently sour, medium bodied, smooth. Pretty good.
