Description
The brewery is still a small family run operation and currently employs over 20 people. The business was set up by Shane and Alison Parr, with lots of help from Iain and Anne Reid (Alison’s parents) and Innes Reid (Alison’s brother), but we survive and thrive on the great crew we have working with us.
Our brewing plant capacity has been upgraded over the years and now is now 100 brewer’s barrels (28,800 pints) per week, which allows us to meet demand during peak periods. In 2013 we constructed a purpose built, energy efficient brew house, and we’re always looking for ways to improve our environmental impact by saving water and energy.

14th September 2020, Shrewsbury Beer Share gathering with Syrian Supper in Chez Sophie, five in attendance. 500ml bottle, BB 20th Jul 2021; cheers Mat for this new brew. Clear golden amber body, white topping. Malty front with some citrus bitterness in there too, no blackcurrant or oranges as suggested on the label though!

500ml bottle @ Syrian Supper tasting, Chez Sophie, Sep 20. Brought by me. Clear gold, foamy titanium white head. Aroma has bright fresh lemon and grapefruit, continuing to taste with a nice bitterness. Quite flavoursome for a Shropshire gold. Reckon a pint would go down a treat. Went well with a Kibbeh.

Handpull cask at the Bastion Alehouse, Oswestry. Straw-coloured, clear, with an uneven white head. Juicy hops in the aroma, with the scent of gooseberry, white grape and vanilla. Sweet taste with more hop flavour, a little bit soapy in the finish. Long finish with grapefruit and more gooseberry. Light body, soft carbonation. Lots of character for the ABV.

Handpull cask at the Oak, Oswestry. Amber golden brown, clear with a decent-sized whitish head. Big floral aroma, some caramel, some bitter orange peel. Sweet initial taste, followed by a light hoppy bitterness. More bitterness in the long finish with more toffee and a bit of stone fruit. Very good.

Third by cask, second day of GBBF Winter 20, Astbury Bar. Shared with Finn. A bubbly beige head to a near-black body, clingy lacing. Roasted malt-driven aromas, mid-sweet. Vanilla chocolate flavours followed by a coffee bite to a roasted finish. Pleasing. (Rating no. 18500) (Birmingham 05.02.2020).

500ml bottle, shared with Mike. Pours dark, good pale tan head. Aroma has light chocolate, distant vanilla. Fairly light bodied and a touch thin for a porter, gentle chocolate, distant vanilla, gentle roast with a teasing sweetness. It's ok, drinks very easy, bourbon is negligible though.
