Description
Established in 2011, Mumbles Brewery has dedicated itself to producing quality real ales with a local flavour. That ‘local flavour’ comes from the beautiful Swansea in Wales. Their beers are only available in pubs throughout South Wales and Bristol, that is one of many reasons we chose them to be included in our boxes. We wanted you to be able to enjoy these excellent beers no matter where you are in the country. The Brewery started making real ale in 2013 in the Pilot Inn, Mumbles. A range of unique ales are brewed with local flavour.

Cask in Shrewsbury Arms, Stafford Pours a very dark reddish brown with an ample beige head and good lacing. Nose is pretty nondescript, but at least there’s some taste when it’s in the mouth. Cocoa, toffee and peanuts, combining with a fishy underlayer. Let down by a watery texture though, and a creamy finish. Not bad, but not worth waiting 3 months for !

Hand-pulled half-pint on 15th May 2019 in the Hopbunker, Cardiff. Amber/bronze body, white head. Malty brew, as the name suggests, caramel semi-sweetness to the fore in both the nose and flavour. Liked it.

Handpull cask at the King's Head, Leicester.amber and clear with a smallish off-white head. Light aroma, quite malty with a hint of mulled cider. Tastes sweet, and there's a moment in the sip where it's replendent with fresh strawberry juice and light brown sugar. The finish however is surprisingly dry. So... average start, wonderful middle, ho-hum end. I expected more but didn't quite get it.
