Description
WHEN YOU SIT DOWN WITH A BEER, YOU’RE AFTER SOMETHING. Maybe it’s nuanced layers of flavor, the siren call of a favorite hop, or to test your skill identifying stone fruit tasting notes. Maybe you’re chasing the new or craving the familiar, perhaps you just want to kick back for a drink with friends—and order another of the same. At Bearded Iris, our beers meet you where you are and deliver the experience you seek, whatever it might be, because that’s what we believe makes beer worth drinking. CULTIVATE VARIETY DRIVES US AT BIBCO. (WE’RE NOT KIDDING.) With a menu that skews heavily toward IPAs, DIPAs, and pales, it can appear that we don’t, in fact, cultivate much “variety.” But here’s the thing: we’re not looking to bombard you with a checklist of styles. Instead, we know that each hop varietal and every intentionally selected ingredient contains a multitude of possibilities that can be deliberately unlocked and unleashed, then honed and hemmed in tightly, to construct a pint that’s unapologetically itself, memorably composed, and fun to drink. Every time. Regardless of style. To us, that’s the variety worth cultivating. And that’s what we bring to your table.

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a clearish, deep gold with a full finger of foam that lingers. Big tropical nose with lychee, grapefruit, mango. The aromas really sing, great nose. Body is creamy with nice carbonation. Bitter, light caramel and pine on the palate. Orange juice comes out as it warms. Another solid beer from Bearded Iris. --- Beer merged from original tick of Red Handed DDH on 02 Sep 2017 at 21:46 - Score: 8. Original review text: Lychee, grapefruit, mango. Great nose. Tall can. Cloudy yellow with a tall, loose white head that falls quickly. Aroma of pineapple and grapefruit. The flavor is bitter and citrusy. Fruity and juicy on a light palate.

Can courtesy of SpringsLicker, thanks! Cloudy golden orange color, white head with good retention and solid lacing. Beautiful earthy stone fruit aroma. Taste is bittersweet citrus, tropical fruit, raw bread, pine resin finish. Delicious.

Stouter and stickier than regular Tunnel Vision, layered with a bubblegum-tinged grainy malt base that produces a sugary undercurrent that never quite fades, even when the IBUs start flooding in on the piney, citric finish. Starts sweet, yet quickly develops a multitude of hop notes: lemon, orange, herb, fresh-cut flowers, green and black pepper, and a candied lemon peel back end. Bitterness prevents the malts from growing cloy, and the fade carries the slightest boozy warmth. I prefer the original, but the beefed-up big brother isn't bad. Aroma's amazing, pour isn't. Altogether a solid DIPA.

Tall can (thx, Justin I.!) shared with Ilya. Pours a dirty golden with a hige white head. Aroma is loads of tropical fruits. Similar taste, very juicy, with some hoppy bitterness. Very refreshing. Good stuff.

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a hazy gold with a finger of foam. Huge aromas of guava, durian, mango and peach A little alcohol is noticeable though. Honey, peach and coconut creamy palate. Light acidity, raspy carbonation. Leaves a little prickly feeling that lingers, with some acidity. Solid stuff.

Massive lemon-pine nose with a hint of boozy astringency. Pour comes out a thick, opaque gold with a modest head and slight lacing. Taste gives up tons of Simcoe and Citra goodness, dank and mango and orange, lemondrops and berry and a bitter, peppery finish. Malts add an earthy, toasted grain undertone, while the finish stays appreciably dry, hints of bread and a lingering citric bite offset by a mild liquor warmth. Feel comes across a bit prickly and rough, and the warmth seems a bit excessive for a 8% beer. Tasty as hell, though.
