Established in 2016 in Elsdon, the heart of Northumberland. The First & Last is an award winning, family-run, microbrewery. We brew small batch cask-conditioned and bottled beer. Our beers are inspired by the wild, untamed landscape and starry skies of Northumberland.

[ As First & Last Solstice ].Clear medium to light yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, fruity malt. 25/7/2018. Bottle from CentrAle, Newcastle. Pours clear bright amber brown with an average sized off-white to beige ear. Aroma of malt, toffee, chocolate, hops, dark fruits, light toasting and nut. Medium plus sweetness with medium bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, bit above average carbonation. Decent brew except for being a little too fizzy.

25/5/2018. Cask at the 2018 Newark Beer & Cider Festival. Pours very dark brown with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, a hint of liquorice and dark fruits. Medium sweetness and bitterness. Medium body, slight watery texture, average too soft carbonation. Enjoyable.
