Dark brown beer with reddish highlights under brown-yellow head. Very "beery" malts nose, dark malts, sweet & roasted at the same time. Sweet flavour with roasted-burnt, just-not-bitter notes. Very much like Walloon "old-style" Scotch ale from yore. Medium to well-bodied, bit viscous. Finish is in unbalance, swaying between wry, roasted and increasingly sweet. Roman. It’s a pity for the brewery, but they seem determined to keep being the Achilles’ heel of beery Oudenaarde.

Bottle, Belgian Belly, Chorlton. Deep amber colour with a creamyish head. Sweetish aroma of caramel malt. Liked the spiciness in the flavour and my attention was held to the bottom of the glass with more elements of herby fruitiness revealing themselves.. Probably the best from this quiver I’ve thus far tasted and a tasty winter warmer.

Bottle @ home. Clear pale golden colour, white head. Aroma of flowery hops and some fruity notes, smells quite promising for a premium lager actually. Flavour is very thin, fruity, a bit sweet with a nasty metallic undertone and finish. Slightly bitter. Nice smell, bad taste.
