Bottled (thanks Stoutlover72). Hazy nutbrown colour, huge beige fluffy head. Aroma is yeast, American hops and lots of fruit. Flavour is nutty, hoppy and toffeeish. Finish and aftertaste is sweetish malts and hops with nuts in background. Pleasant!

I had kind of hoped they would make a more "out there" brew to mark the anniversary of this album (an IPA? c’mon guys) - anyway, at least it’s a decent IPA - clear golden pour with well-sustained head - bright, fruity aroma of citrus and mild berries - medium hop profile, with light acidity, some hints of cherry, oranges, bready/yeast notes - finishes with dried herbs, medium dry hop flavor, and some slight, lingering fruit (mostly the citrus) - a decent beer, but hardly worth of a tribute of this magnitude.

Sampled at From The Vine beer tasting Sep 22nd, 2006: Golden amber color with a medium thick white head. Thck spotty lacing. The aroma is citrusy hops all the way. Medium-bodied and somewhat bitter with a fresh citrus and hops flavor, along with a dash of sweet fruit. The finish is soft, fruity and hoppy. Not bad overall.

Bottle, served perhaps a little bit too cold. Poured very dark with a small dark head. Aroma of roasted malt, toffee and chocolate. Full in the mouth with a bit of chewiness. It covered all the tastebuds. Quick finish with an tang. Deceptively strong, it didn’t seem like an Imperial stout.

draft - Pours a hazy amber with a thin head. The aroma is of malty sweetness. The malt doesn’t relent in the taste, but is joined by some light hops flavor. The finish lingers for awhile. I really didn’t notice this being a strong ale, so I guess the alcohol is well masked. It seemed like a pretty straightforward beer though, not great, but good.

Bottle: Poured a clear orangey color ale with a medium foamy head with average retention and lacing. Aroma of metallic hops with some caramel malt. Taste is a mix between sweet malt with some metallic hops and a bitter finish. Body is about average. Overall, this is an OK IPA but far from being great and lacking balance between malt and hops.

Bottle: Pours a ruddy red amber with little off white head. Aroma is clean and sharp with a malty sweetness and hints of alcohol. Taste is pleasantly smooth with notes of plum, caramels, malty sweetness, sugars, and just a bit of hops. Not nearly as harsh as some barleywines. Very nicely done!

An observation about beer is that fruit flies in the area will quickly appear when a good beer is opened, and this one made them fly in immediately. Pours a large, long lasting, creamy head over a copper colored body. Light doughy malt and pine resin hop aroma. Well balanced flavor with a long dry finish. A good one.
