Dark amber coloured body with a ruby tint and a thin light brown head. Aroma of metal, slight hops, cleaning products and a light sweetness. Tart taste up front, going sweet in the middle and finishing real short. Aftertaste super clean, with some hops and a bit of caramel. Overall, a decent beer-definately wierd-but worth trying! I bought this 65 cL bottle at Norm's in Vienna, Virginia, sampled it on 02-March-2004 and shared it with my good friend Jon!

Bottle. Golden beer with a white head. Grapefruit aroma with a little sweetness coming through. Taste is easy going with a nive balance of biterness with a little earthy grassiness and a tough of malt showing through. Finish is a little more than I want - creamy, bitter, but a little too creamy and a little too much of a resin aftertaste. Good start, lacking in the finish.

Bottle. Nice mahogany color with a good sized beige head. Aroma is a little spicey (a little pine) and has plenty of malt. It drinks easy with a pine resin flavor of hops and a good malt backbone, that gives way to a complex hop/malt/alcohol warming flavor. There's a slight tannic flavor of the roasted malts, but otherwise if you like an intense beer, this is good. Not as good as an Arogant bastard, but this is better than the double bastard that's mentioned below. Seems to be a very intense and hoppy winter beer.

Bottle. A dark amber color with a little bit of red and a beige head that quickly falls. Hops make a great flavor thats backed up with a little caramel sweetness finishing with a mild pine hop bitterness. Aroma isn't overly strong, but there's an earthy hopiness to it. At first sip it feels like a heavy body, but its not thick at all. Medium finish that leaves yiou wanting more. Very good beer that hides it's alcohol until about half bottle. and then just adds a warming touch. Very nice all-round balance on a well made beer.

Bottle. Amber beer with a decent head that quickly falls. Slight citrus aroma, but the taste is more a grassy/floral hop with an underlying caramel. Dry finish and easy to drink.

2003 bottle. Interesting experience I had. I try it at about 55 degrees and it seems exceedingly bitter, overhopped, out of balance. I let it warm up to about 60-63 and all of a sudden there is ample sweet malt to balance it out. Still, nothing out of the ordinary here, well made, PNW alpha hops, pale malt. Very bitter. Nice appearance, duller amber-red, small amount of head, tons of sediment that hangs in suspension throughout. Typical bitter hop smell, mildly citric. Not overly complex in aroma, average complexity in flavor.

Bottle. Star colored with a decent head and very faint aroma. This is a very hoppy pils - probably too much so for the style. Fruity/spicey hops dominate, but give way to a slight metallic taste that's not unpleasant.

Bottle. Great hoppy aroma on top of an orange beer. The first taste is a huge presence of hops, but there's enough body to stand up to it and leave a slightly sweet presence that again fades to hops and a high alcohol presence. It does have a slight sharpness, but otherwise a bit of grapefruit and pine. A fantastic strong IPA.

The head is thin and collapses quickly, but you are assaulted by wonderful hops, and grapefruits on the nose. Orangy hazy light brown. Beautiful rich body, with the hops and citrus cutting thorugh the malt in harmony...Hops heaven...excellent beer!
