A clear red-brown beer with a lasting brown head. The aroma is sweet with a slight hint of chocolated. The flavor is sweet with notes of prunes as well as hints of chocolate, there is a slight sourness in the background. I’m missing some coffee in this one.

Reminds me of a high gravity version of Anchor OSA - Dark red in color, moderate head - medium hops with winter spices (nutmeg, clove) - touches of chocolate and caramel - almost oily mouthfeel - pretty good, but not as good as their other specialty beers.

Bottle pours a bright clear pale golden yellow with a huge fluffy white head. Very densr and persistant. Aroma is mainly that distinct belgian spice and yeast with some mile light grain notes. Flavors are more of the same. PLenty of pale slightly sweet maltiness and an up front Belgian flavor. Fairly thin, light and a bit dry. Quite soft.

Bottle. Dark ruby-amber with a big beige head. Aroma of rich malt, toffee, alcohol. Grapefruit hop flavor under a lot of smooth malt - brown sugar, toffee. Just a hint of alcohol beneath just a little berry fruit. Slightly sweet, slightly bitter, but good and surprisingly easy to drink. It’s lacking the complexity of a really nice Belgian, but otherwise this has a lot going for it.

Golden with a light copper tint and a substantial white head, great lace - fruity, malty nose with a background of mustiness and tartness - really hoppy up front, with a gradual swell of light fruits (strawberry, blueberry) and a bready, yeasty finish - quite nice.

This beer is awesome! - deep amber with sticky, thick lace - huge pine/spruce/hop aroma with background malt presence, a hint of strawberry and blueberry - flavor starts out very herbal, grassy, hoppy - a bit of malty grain and a swelling hop bitterness is cut but a sudden surge of chewy sweet malt, bringing with it a wonderful finish of strawberries and cherries with a hint of caramel - this is a great beer, deserving of much higher ratings.

fresh, 2005. Golden brown colour. Aroma mixes candy, earth, caramel. Rich body, with lots of chewy malts, earth and light fruity notes (peach, pear). Balanced, vibrant. 6-3-7-4-15 = 3.5
2007, aged for 7 years. Cloudy amber-brown. A lot of chewy, slightly toasty malts, hints of hop spice, touch of alcohol late. A lot of chewy and some alcohol...dash of chocolate...well it’s not improved with age or anything else. 2 6 6 2 11.

BOttle Pours a deep ruby amber with very littel light tan head. Sheets of very attractive lacing. Wonderfull aromas of caramel, plums, raisons, vanilla and alcohol. Flavor is more pitted fruit, apples, and lots of hops that come up to the front slow ans strong. Leaves a heavy hop aftertaste but more of a warming deep taste as opposed to the sharp bite of an 2IPA. Rich and heavy feel that slides down with a slight burn on the first sip. Very nice. This bomber is going to do me in.

Bottle Pours a clear deep redish copper with a large thick foamy off white head. Quite strong citrusy hops aroma right away. Flavor is mostly hops and alcohol. Feel is nice and heavy and smooth. Carbonation is pretty soft. The maltiness and woody flavors are a bit overpowered but not too much so. More like a robust IPA.
