Description
We are Oedipus Brewing. Founded by four friends in Amsterdam, we’re always ready to go where our taste buds take us. Oedipus is about fun, energy and doing things differently. We create fantastical beers to reveal to the world that beer is a magical beverage: tasty, exciting and for everyone. Welcome to our universe πŸ––πŸ½

Since mid 2019 has Heineken a minority interest in the brewery. On June 21, 2023, it was announced that Heineken had acquired all shares of the brewery and thus became full owner of the brewery. The takeover coincides with the move of Oedipus.

The brewery and taproom at Gedempt Hamerkanaal 85 were closed on April 14, 2024. The brewery and taproom were moved to Schaafstraat 19, 300 meters further, where the Oedipus Craft Space will open in the early summer of 2024.

Thx! 33 cl. bottle sampled @ Gollem. Stupid name that leads to silly jokes when ordering at a bar. Pours a hazy orange with a small but very solid white head. Nose is sweet juicy exotic fruits, passion fruit, mango, sweet lemon, white pepper, nicely hoppy, fruity yeast,… Tastes of sweet lemons, lemongrass, lots of juicy mandarins, oranges, mangos, passion fruit, very juicy, mellow hops, white pepper,… Very easy to drink, lovely stuff. (Version brewed @ De Molen). //////////////////// Tried again. 33 cl. Amazing exotic fruit juice, lots of passion fruit juice with light pepper and lemongrass in the finish, incredible. 4.3 -> 4.7

33 cl bottle @ olio. Bottled 12.08.2014
Aroma has soapy citrus and some yeasty notes. Flavour is hoppy with gooseberry bush, some fruity tones, grapefruit and hints of soapy citrus. Slightly foamy palate. Like a mixture of APA and wit. Weird but not bad.

Bottle shared at Garbage Night II - London. Big thanks to Fergus for this one. Pours clear gold with a creamy, white foam head. The nose is fairly herbal with notes of thyme and rosemary, along with dry dough and Belgian yeast. Medium sweet flavor with pronounced herbal character, balancing pale bread, some wheat, light hay. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Moderate sweetness to finish, some pale and doughy bread, plenty more herbs, light yeast, hay. Pretty tasty stuff. Nicely balanced.
