Growlerette received in trade from MeadMe, thanks for the opportunity. Pours a thick inky black color with a tiny tan head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is heavy on the alcohol and rum with bits of roast, chocolate, dark pitted fruit and caramel. The flavor is chocolate, brown sugar, and caramel with a heavy presence of ethanol, rum and bits of earthy wood. Faint smokey malt and bits of dark fruit round out the flavor nicely. Medium to thick body with a light level of carbonation, and a slick, oily mouthfeel. This one gets a bit hot and is a sipper to be sure. This grew on me as I got towards the end.

Bottle received in trade from MeadMe, thanks for the opportunity. Pours an inky black with a smallish tan head that takes some coaxing to come out. Smells of chocolate, vanilla, caramel, molasses, a bit of oak, some brown sugar. Very pleasant nose. The flavor is sweet with brown sugar and caramel and bits of chocolate, vanilla, roasted grain, and wood tannin. Thick body with a creamy silky syrupy mouthfeel and a very light level of carbonation. Love the aroma, this is a very nice stout, I could sip several more of these given half a chance.

Batch is 2013 from a growler. The aroma makes me want to take this to bed and make sweet, sweet love to it. Rye bread, malt whiskey and pumpernickel bread. The flavor is almost like having a blue eyed, blond haired woman with voluptuous breasts and an ass that tastes like French vanilla ice cream... Wait, what did I just type?..? This stout drinks like pure sex... No really, this is right along the best beers I have ever sampled and I don’t type That lightly. Amazing ..... Batch 3 Nooner, nice pop of the top into a stemmed wine glass at 55F
A - Like the other DOS beers, pitch oily black, although this has a nice creamy espresso colored head that doesn’t fade
S - Wow the nose is really incredible. charcoal, lots of caramel and toffee with some vanilla and coconut. Nice mocha and espresso.
T - wow. This is pretty amazing. Very sweet and creamy with some whiskey booziness and vanilla. I get some bitterness, charcoal / charred oak? there’s an interesting aspect to this....lots of chocolate but something else I can’t pinpoint.
M - Thick mouthfeel, oily and thick.
O - Wow yeah, I LOVE this beer. could drink this every day.
