Pigs Ear. Cask. Almost clear amber beer. A few cream coloured bubbles for a head. Light palate, dry and a little crisp. Light dry malt, semi sweet. Touch of unsweet toffee. Little dried fruits. Dry finish. Standard stuff but it’s fine.

Cask at The New Bridge, Newcastle. Styles itself as a Black Lager, but makes for a very nice mild. Pours black with a thin tan head. Sweet chocolate malt aromas, with a hint of fruity berries. Taste has more chocolate sweetness and a sweet finish. Like I said, a nice mild.
