in 2011, Goose Island Beer Company was acquired by Anheuser-Busch InBev. Since then, we’ve continued to brew beer that we’re proud of and now we get to share these beers with our friends both nationwide and internationally.

Good for an American wheat. Light wheat aroma and light wheat taste. There is pleasant citrus, and it is a little sweet. I would prefer a hefe, but this lighter beer with the citrus is an ok substitute.

A hazy amber beer with a small white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel and peach as well as light hints of alcohol. The flavor is malty with light notes of oranges and straw, while the body is thin.

Very tasty with a fruity and hoppy aroma. A fresh and nice balanced IPA. My kind of beer.
Re-rating. 355 ml bottle @ Melkebaren, Sandnes. Almost clear amber body with a medium sized white head. Nice aroma of grapefruit, peaches and caramel. Flavor is refreshing fruity, bitter and caramel malt. Quite straight forward IPA, and should not offend anyone, still really nice. Medium body and decent bitter aftertaste.

Re-rate based on 3 July 2006 bottling. badnewsbeers shared this more recent vintage with me, and I was blown away. Thicker with a more complex flavor profile than the previous vintage I tried, offering huge prunes, plum, and soy, with big charred roasted malts and more subtle oak and bourbon notes than I remember from the original bottling. The 2006 vintage still has the hot alcohol finish, but everything else seems bolder and better crafted. Outstanding.
Previous review: Deep opaque charcoal brown/black body, thin/medium ochre head. Strong oak and vanilla aroma with chocolate, soy, and roasted malts in the background. Flavor started out with dominant oak/vanilla, but there was enough roast and chocolate backing the barrel flavors to provide crucial balance. Coffee and a touch of soy rounded out the flavor profile. Pretty full-bodied and a bit sticky with a burnt aftertaste as well as alcohol notes. Very good. Thanks JCW! (Numbers: 8-4-8-4-16).

Orange hazy amber ale with a light white head. Smooth hops and orange notes in aroma. Sweet malt and good hops with a good citrus bite. Sweet caramel finish. Medium bodied.

Holy smokes! I’m not sure which trappist they were shooting for here, hints at Roch 10 but I understand this is really a Chimay Blue clone, but IMO its better! And while they didn’t quite give us a sublime, amazingly complex little creatur like Roch 10, they’ve perhaps made the very best Belgian style I’ve ever had from an American brewery. So very soft, juicy, rounded, caramelly fruity malts, perhaps a teeny bit of chocolate, a little coconut, touch of banana and phenol, sweet alcohol finish. Did I say this was soft? Wow! Nice amber-red color, full head gave way quickly, no lacing. Oh, and the mouthfeel was just soft and juicy. Luscious.

Bottle Pours a hazy amber orange with a small white head and thin lacing. Aroma is plenty of hops but fruity, citrus and melon maybe. Flavor is rich citrusy hops and lots of balancing sweet malts. Feel is very full bodied thick and smooth Aftertaste is a nice sharp bitterness but fits well with all the other flavors. A very nice drinkable IPA. Thanks MrFacto

Bottle Pours a clear medium amber/brown with an average off-white head that has real lasting power. Nice thick lacing too. Aromas are grassy, woody and fairly sweet. Flavor is somewhat biter like an ESP but not darker and fuller than just a strong hops bite. Feel is a bit thin and the carbonation is average.. Drinkable butr not special. Bottle Pours a deep dark mahogany with a large fluffy light tan head. Aroma is a dry, woody and dark malt. Flavors are similar but more smokey. Soft woody flavors mostly and easy on the carbonation as well as hops. Soft feel, a bit too dry for me. Almost a slight metallic taste. Decent. Doesn’t stack up to the Rogue IMO

Bottle Pours a totally blck with a tall fluffy tan head, slowly settling to nice blocky lacing. Aromas are subtle, soft woody dark roast combo. A hint of coffee. Flavors are dark smokey and of paper or cardboard. Not unpleasant but simple and straightforward. That classic Oatmeal slick feel and smooth texture is present. Not particularly interesting but easy and tasty. Dare I say it?... a "session stout" Thanks again MrFacto
