About
The Wild Beer Co was born in 2012 out of a love of fermentation, barrel-ageing and most importantly, flavour. We believe exceptional brewing stems from imagination and passion. Our beers are brewed using modern creative techniques and ingredients while producing some of the world’s oldest beer styles guaranteed to give you a memorable drinking experience.
Curious bought Wild Beer Co out of administration in a deal that involved the beer brands and intellectual property of Wild Beer Co, but not its Somerset-based brewery production facilities. The Curious and Wild Beer Co businesses were transfered into the hands of St Peter’s in 2023.

Hazy orange/golden pour with a stable white head. Aromas of pine, mango, malt/grain and citrus. Taste is citrus and malt, some herbs. Not bad, quite sessionable.

440ml can from Waitrose, Finchley Road, London. A hazy golden/orange coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, citrus, orange, grapefruit taste/aroma. A little sweet but also rather tasty. Nice surprise.

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 05/03/24. Hazed amber to marmalade orange with a light beige cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is earthy fruit rinds, toffee, herb, dusty hops, grains, caramel, biscuit, vinous notes. Taste comprises tangy fruit rinds, dry rot, vinous, hedgerow, light yeast floaties, biscuit, dates, raisins, earthy, fruit tang. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light kiss of alcohol and tangy fruit edge. It's an okay sipper, comes over more sour than barley wine so if you're expecting the latter ... scroll past. Doesn't deserve a 3.24 average (before I stuck my rate in) and does have some complexity about it .... but it's not what most folks would expect from Life.

[August 2022] Cask lager, never been convinced! Clear and golden with a frothy/bubbly white head and not much of an aroma, hints of grain maybe. It’s slightly floral, a touch bitter, has some yeasty vibes and all very smooth

Small rim, hazy amber beer. End of bottle serious UFO's. Fruity nose, strawberry, strawberry liqueur, wood. Strawberries on mild lactic acid. Even some horseblanket. Faint lemon, and delicate fruity flavours. Acidburn and -thinning, good carbonation, refreshing. Another excellent, alas gone beer from Wild Beer. Just great.

A light haze on this amber beer, good pale tan head. Palate is pretty light for the style, there is a mild dryness, and decent fine carbonation. Airy malts, a mild creamy sweetness. Quite a red wine barrel vibe, slightly tart, decent vanilla oak. Airy and fairly dry finish. A nice brew, but nothing here really says barleywine. No malt depth at all, just a nice, very slightly tart, barrel aged beer.

Batch 1, bottled 2015 with a BBD of 12/2017. Think it was from Hop Hideout. Anyway. Unreal condition. Clear deep chestnut brown with a slim lasting super dense beige foam. Big vinous vibe. Still some coffee. Hint of vanilla. Taste is vinous with some sweetness and some earthy woody bitterness. Slick but easy drinking. Vinous earthy woody bitter finish. Ace.
