440ml can bought at Vinmonopolet Bergen Storsenter. Coal black with a deep ruby glint, covering beige head, clingy lacing. Promising malt-driven aromas, nicely roasted grain, hints of liquorice. Well blended dark malt-forward taste character, featuring caramel, chocolate, liquorice and ash. A coffee twist to a roasted ending. Quite enjoying. (Hotel room, Bergen 11.06.2022).

Keg at the beer wolf books Falmouth. A jet black brown coloured pour with a a lasting mid tan head. Aroma is semi sweet, big liquorice, chocolate cake, earthy roast, blackened sugars. Flavour is composed of rich earthy roast, liquorice, powdered chocolate, little vanilla, rich roast. Palate is medium sweet, fullosh bodied, moderate carbonation. Big bold impy stout.

Aroma is roasted malts with dark bread, coffee, dark chocolate and dried fruits, as well as leathery minerals. Medium body, with average carbonation. Flavour is roasted malts with dark bread, coffee, cocoa nibs and dark fruity notes, as well as brown sugar and leather. Balanced and moreish.

7-4-7-3-14 Can, # 405, five months before bbd. Pours hazy dark red, with a big creamy, reddish head. Aroma is estery yeast with cherries, dates and dark fruits, as well as wood and some phenolic notes. Medium body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is tart fruity yeast, with hay, forrest berries, cherries and fruit peel, as well as floral farmhouse notes. Dry finish.

440ml can bought from the Offie, Leicester and drunk at home. The colour is light orange/gold and hazy with a white head. Big apricot frozen yogurt pop aroma. The sweet taste doesn’t last and becomes quite bitter quite quickly. More apricot/peach flavours but I’m getting less of the honey. Long bitter finish. Thin body, heavy carbonation. Strange but not bad.

Keg at Awakening Fest last, Gosport. Aroma is surprisingly sour with vague malty streak. Opaque dark brown. Foamy thin light beige head. Sour berry edge but primarily malty and chocolate. Light-medium bodied. Light creamy body. Flat-average carbonation. Abrupt finish. Hmm. Doesn't do much for me.

Rocky light brown head on a still black body. Bitter, malt, cake & coffee aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a sharp finish. Malt, coffee, confectionery, chocolate & Parma violet tastes. All mixed up - stick to the basics.
