Description
Siren Craft Brew exists to encourage more people to enjoy, fall for and experiment with craft beer. The Sirens of Greek mythology would entice mariners with their magical songs. Their voices would entwine into a complex, layered melody. At Siren Craft Brew, we work in a similar way, combining four ingredients that interact together in magical ways to create our ales. Each beer is individual, overflowing with flavour, aroma and texture. Each holds its own secret. Each is a little dangerous. Liquid Mistress, Under Current, Sound Wave and Broken Dream are here to tease, sway and persuade. They gently beckon you to a new world of taste. Let yourself be carried away. Be enticed…

Cask ale, half pint at Bow Bar. Dark amber coloured body. Bubbly ring to the rim of the surface. Good amount of lacing. Fresh citrus fruity aroma. Fine blended taste of citrus fruits, lemony hops, and mid-sweet, earthy malts. Lingering, smooth bittersweet tail. Medium bodied. A good one (Edinburgh 09.08.2013).

Cask at CP&K. It pours very dark brown with a small beige head. The nose is roasty, treacle, fudge, chocolate, caramel and light spice. The taste is rich, roasty, earthy, wood, good chocolate character, liquorice, caramel and decent bitterness with a very dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Tasty and well-integrated. Nice.

On tap at Mikeller bar Victoriagrade, a cloudy gold color with a slightly funky lemon aroma.Wow, the taste was a quite sour lemon, almost like a lemonade with a nice body & the malty backbone would shine through from time to time. Pretty good.

Draft at Baccus, Newcastle on 27 July 2013. Poured a black colour with a dense tan head, very appealing looking. Aroma however was saccharine mix of unbalanced blackjack and other sweets with a mix of stale tobacco and some acidic tones. Flavour contained a little roast malt, but then turned to over sweetened instant coffee with the residual taste of an ashtray (or what I imagine one would taste like). Three of us couldn’t finish the one half pint between us... Probably eligible for a re-rate as this looks like it has pretty good ratings from others. Possibly a duff barrel, but it was keg...

Cask handpull at Craft Beer Co. Yes a little boozy and yes may be better on keg but this is good. Aroma of sticky hops. The carbonation on the mouthfeel may be better. Big pink grapefruit. Slightly syrupy toffee but excellent.
