Bottle at L42 - thanks to Leighton. It pours with a small white head. The aroma is fresh, sweaty grainy, musty, sweaty, lemon - lime, margarita, citric acidity and salted cracker. The taste is crisp, dry, fresh lemon, limey salted cracker, limey, margarita, passion fruit and some tannin with a drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit grainy. Decent enough, but doesn't live up to the other Referend beers I have had.

Sour ale refermented with grapes apparently, bottle shared at Nieuwjaarsreceptie of the Gentse Biervereniging. Very loose, bubbly head, instantly gone, on misty, amberish-tinged deep fuchsia red beer. Aroma of rotting grapes and overripe raspberries, spoiled tomato juice, rubber, cherry stones, beetroot, sour yoghurt, red wine vinegar. Sharply sour onset, redcurrant and lemony puckering acidity with a sweeter, raspberry-, grape- and cherry tomato-like core; bready malt base, soft carbonation. Finishes very dry and acidic in a somewhat vinegary manner, powdery and earthy yeasty as well. Quite straightforward, too harsh sourness even for the style - and an aroma which is not all too attractive. Not a great success I'm afraid, but good for a state tick...
