Description
We opened our doors in Brixton in mid 2013 with the aim of teaching Londoners how to make beer. We have expanded operations at this site to offer up to 30 draught lines featuring our commercially available beers, exclusive nano brews and guest beers plus a large stock of cans and bottles to take home. We remain one of the very few venues in London to stock home brewers with hops, malt and yeast.

Bottle thanks to Leighton, it pours clear gold with a thick white head. The nose is spicy, green vegetables, capsicum, chilli, paper and dough. The taste is crisp, doughy, paper, spicy chilli, green vegetables, light acidity and some icing sugar with a spicy, hot finish. Light - medium body and moderate carbonation. Not for me.

4.9/10 โ€” Appearance 6 Aroma 5 Flavor 5 Texture 4 Overall 4.5
Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours very lightly hazy with a small white head. The nose is soft, doughy, light paper, sweet cinnamon, plastic, wheat and light grass. The taste is crisp, wishy-washy, bread, wheat, light pepper and cracker with a short, dry finish. Light body and foamy carbonation. Another wishy-washy number.... Meh.

Bottle shared in London - picked up at the Lab. Pours clear gold with a creamy white head. The aroma is a little odd, some plastic, lemon rind, not really getting much cinnamon. Light sweet flavor with some vague citrus notes, a little grass, biscuits, hay. Light bodied with average carbonation. Moderately sweet finish, some further plastic, dry white bread. Not very good.

7/10 โ€” Appearance 6 Aroma 7 Flavor 7 Texture 6 Overall 8
Bottle at home in London - sourced from the Lab. Pours entirely clear gold with a dense, lasting creamy white head; quite a pro appearance, really. Quite a clean aroma, with light juicy tangerine, some other pithy citrus, hints of pine needles. Light sweet flavor with some moderate minerality, more pine needles, citrus rind, some grapefruit and tangerine, mellow biscuity pale malts. Light bodied with average carbonation. Pithy and very slightly resinous on the finish, with relaxed pale malt sugars, rounded citrus character, more pith and rind, just hints of juice. A little bit of grassy bitterness in the aftertaste, which doesnโ€™t sync well. Pretty well balanced overall, though. Quite drinkable. Good work.

6.8/10 โ€” Appearance 6 Aroma 7 Flavor 7 Texture 6 Overall 7
Bottle at home in London - picked up at the Lab. Pours mostly clear gold with a thick, lasting creamy white head. Pleasant doughy biscuits and white bread in the aroma, some cereal, a bit of meringue. Light-medium sweet flavor with some grainy cereal, more biscuits, slight husky hay, toasted sugars, faint citrus notes. Light bodied with average to lively carbonation. Finishes somewhat sweet, with baked cereal, hints of tangy lemon, straw, biscuits. Overall, itโ€™s not bad, but the biscuit character could be a bit more pronounced, and a little more bitterness would balance things out better. Still, itโ€™s fairly enjoyable.

7/10 โ€” Appearance 6 Aroma 7 Flavor 7 Texture 6 Overall 8
Bottle at home in London - picked up at the Lab. Pours mostly clear gold, lightly effervescent, with a foamy white head that fades out just a touch too quickly. Lots of doughy wheat bread in the nose, some bruised bananas, faint apple, ripe citrus, clove. Medium sweet flavor with rich, lightly toasted wheat bread, more ripe banana, orange, faint bitter hay. Light to medium bodied with lively carbonation. Finishes with further prominent wheat bread, some pale grains, pleasant phenolics, fruits, very faint caramel. A fairly true take on the German wheat beer. Perhaps a little bit too sugary at times, but overall itโ€™s very enjoyable.
