0.5l bottle from BrewDog web shop. This one pours a semi clear dark mahogany red body with a nice, lasting and almost creamy heavy lacing lightly tanned head. The aroma is fruity and hoppy with notes of heavy pine, citrus, grapefruit, caramel and malts. Average carbonation, medium to full-bodied and it has a sharp but still near creamy mouthfeel. Flavors are quite pint and bitter with lots of malts, some mildly burned notes, hints of strawberries and spices. Ends strong, quite dry and sharp-bitter with a long lasting piny aftertaste. I got a bit confused when I saw that this was classified as an amber (thought it was an IPA), but it was quite a nice beer indeed.

Bottle. Clear reddish brown with a beige head that’s quickly less than a coat. Aroma is fruity and yeasty, with dough and a little cheese,maybe some chocolate. Dried fruits are there, but the sultanas are not all that obvious. Taste has some syrupy fruity sweetness, but sour and bitter spicy flavours come in quickly. The sourness is distracting. After a taste, it shows up as underripe plums in the aroma. Is the funky yeast strain off on a frolic of its own? A bit of a mess.

Bottle. It pours a hazy, amber body and a dense, finger-thick beige head. Nice hoppy accent on the nose, pine cones and citrus peel. Caramel notes and something lightly spiced too. A bit sweet on the palate I think, but nice, with a pleasant bitterness lasting a long time. Caramel and citrus peel too. Full-bodied and nicely carbonated. Overall, nice, but too sweet, else it’s a beer I could have a few of. Well, it still is a beer I could have a few of. 110917

0.5l bottle from BrewDog webshop. This one pours a dark brown body with a small sidesticking beige head. Aroma is fruity with notes of some faint hops and perhaps some chocolate malts. It's average carbonated, medium-bodied and has a really nice smooth almost creamy mouthfeel. Flavors are strong and nice chocolate malts, dark fruits, hints of sawdust and some caramel, it's perfectly hopped and light sweet. Ends with a mild cocoa both finish and aftertaste. This was a really nice brown ale that I definitely would like to taste again!

0.5l bottle from BrewDog web shop. This is one black beer with a slowly fading sidesticking tanned head. Aroma has lots of sweet and smoky notes. There's wood, smoke, chocolate, nuts, roasted malts and some sweet dark caramel hints. Quite nice. Really lively, almost aggressive carbonation, it's medium-bodied and has a fizzing light oily to watery mouthfeel. Lots of smoke also in the flavor. Chocolate, roasted malts and also some hints of licorice in the lasting smoky and quite dry finish. The aftertaste is leaving my mouth light bitter and full of smoke. A nice and light drinkable beer.

Bottle. It’s a clear, reddish dark brown beer with a small, off-white to light beige head. Roasted, chocolatey aroma with some notes of hops. A good dash of coffee thrown in for good measure. Some chocolate and coffee in the mostly roasted flavor, where I also sense a dash of licorice, oddly enough. Smooth and nicely carbonated. Full body. Lighlty roasted and bitter finish.
