Clear golden dark amber with its spice just about right - flavoursome but not overdone. Dark ale character. At Lees flagship Manchester bar in Albert Square.

Cask at the Colmore, Birmingham showing as 'Dark Mild'. However it was more in red ale territory in appearance and taste. Very clean filtered taste with slight berry tang to it. It was ok.

Cask at the Plough Inn, Shustoke, Warks. Clear amber with small off white head. This one was biscuity with some light lemon zest and floral hopping. Quite pleasant if maybe a bit simple. Went down well with a burger.

Keg @ Founders Hall, Manchester. Light golden with a head. Bland enough to be a kölsch, I've never been a big fan of the style and there's little going on beyond the drab lager taste. Tropical notes are evident in its aroma and aftertaste.

Cask @ Founders Hall, Manchester. Black with a thick creamy light-brown head. Good vanilla in aroma, but it's a very thin tasting and textured brew, negating what could be a very good effort, especially as its mild bourbon notes feel like they would be excellent with a bit more oomph!
