I'm all aboard for this starter to an evening, a good choice being a solid traditional example of its style. The clear golden brew is crisp, hoppy, and has an excellent body.

'Mist' features several times in the Rime Of The Ancient Mariner. I decided to take a voyage with this mildly hazy pale golden coloured wheat beer with a small glow. Banana is strong in both aroma and taste, but a dry hoppiness comes to the fore in its aftertaste, before the banana takes over again for a long finish including a hint of spice and herbs.

Parachutists land at about 15mph, which doesn't sound too soft! I landed this clear dark mahogany coloured brew with a smooth head. It's more soft than smooth in texture, which is probably the ale's best feature as it's a little drab for a mild, including being somewhat watery in texture.

It is a long time since I had proper Boddington's but this didn't taste as I remember it. Boddies was always a very bitter Bitter, this was more like John Willie Lees Bitter. Pint in The Crown, Didsbury.

J.W. Lees beers like this clear golden-blonde brew will be drank with a lovely view of the Town Hall from its flagship Manchester bar once refurbishments are complete. This one isn't quite the complete article, a little too dryish, too hoppy to allow enough citrus through, and quite bland as a result.
