Fantastic! Dark fruits, bit of leather, bittersweet chocolate. I was told this was an exceptionally good vintage and I am convinced, although this is my first Lees.

Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. Rich gold colour with a white head. Lemon, white bread and a touch of caramel. Just the right amount of bitterness. Reasonably full mouthfeel. A very traditional gold that's actually quite alright (if a little unexciting).

On the day I'm drinking this beer, baseball legend Mickey Mantle hit his own pucker punch with a record Home Run from both sides of the plate in a game for the third time. Nothing sour about that and only a light tarty one here leading to a more biscuit-bready rhubarbness in its aftertaste.

Cask at the moon under water Watford Jdw. A clear mid gold coloured pour with a lasting creamy white head. Aroma is subdued, nutty malts, buttered bread, dried grass straw. Flavour is composed of earthy pale grains, straw, dried grass, some dried fruit. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, decent cask condition. Not bad.

Today is Golden Spike Day for all you railroad enthusiasts out there. This amber ale is a tad golden in appearance, hoppy , slightly dry, very familiar brewing style for this brewery. Some carbonation apparent in texture. Mild fruit which is best in aroma.
