The ladies writing on my tray suggests this beer is called Fine Horse, or maybe it's just my eyes. A very pale golden-blonde lager, its rice styling is evident enough here as its substyle. It's crisp and clean enough to order again, but not for me.

Just one 'Well' short of a popular saying here. JW Lees have done very well well here with the help of friends. It's a clear pale golden ale with a glow. The Emperor hops in this one have a tasty hoppy-fruity mix, light mandarin, similar aroma coupled with a mild malty backbone, almost chocolate. This is really good.

The little celebrated Albert II was the first monkey in space in 1949. He never returned. I doubt I'll be returning to this one, an almost black porter with a lovely head. It hides quite a dank taste though, with a genuine off the shelf banana flavour. It's not the subtle one you associate with a weissbier, as such it's overbearing and not suited to the dark maltiness you also find in this beer.

Cask gravity at Firkin Alehouse Folkestone. Clear old gold colour lasting white head. Light hops on aroma. Some spicy citrus hops on the finish. Not really what I remember. Perhaps better with a sparkler. I wanted to like it. Its an ordinary bitter.

Keg at Waterloo Tap. Opaque cola brown with a thick foamy light beige head. Aroma has has light coffee and berry edge. Flavourwise itnis berry led - sour with some sugary sweetness. Develops a light coffee bitterness. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Hmmm... an Irish macro-esque stout. Perfectly drinkable but ultimately bland.
