500ml bottle, 4.6%, pours deep orange with a tiny head that doesn't last. Lifeless body. Aromas & tastes of flora, caramel, herbs & honey. Moderate body. Smooth clean finish. A interesting traditional heather ale of which I've only tasted once before.

Bottle from Northumbrian Gifts. Light hazed gold with small consistent white top. Aroma has a grainy and cereal malt, quite fusty, semi-sweet with fruity hop hint. Taste follows, sweet to start but a nice bitterness runs through. Decent near medium body. Nice balance. Has a clean farmhouse cereal beer taste to it without the yeast character. Quite good.

Rocky beige head on a chestnut coloured still body. Bitter fruited aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & soft with bite on the back. Sweet malt, caramel, liquorice & candied fruit tastes with a tangy finish. Decent.

Bottle must have been badly sealed. No carbonation & totally flat. Had a few sips. Tastes if liquorice, malt & spiced fruit. Too dodgy to risk drinking.

Spotty beige head left an unclear vivid amber coloured still body. Fruity herbal aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & clean. Caramel, honey, vegetal, herbal & fruity tastes with a dull chalky finish. Different & interesting.

16/4/2019. Cask from 2019 Newcastle Beer and Cider Festival, sample courtesy of danlo, cheers Ed. Pours dark brown with a very small off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, smoke, peat, charcoal, roasted malt and smoky bacon crisps. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Ok.

Cask at Newcastle Beer & Cider Fest 2019. Black brown colour with orange tinge, sparse biege head and aroma of smoked peat. Taste is peaty, phenolic, smokey with some roasted malt and earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, low carbonation, dry peaty finish. Quite OK
