Handpull cask at the Parcel Yard, Leicester. Dark brown, almost opaque, with a tan head. Ash, liquorice, bitter chocolate... more liquorice. Sweet and slightly herbal taste padded out by roasted malt. Heavy blackberry notes in the aftertaste. Not bad, but missing something to make it a great stout.

Handpull cask at Wyvston's House, Leicester. Copper and clear.a nice big white head. The biscuity, nutty, toasty, honeyed malt is strong in the aroma, and there's also a light touch of juniper. Sweet initial taste with bitterness on the tail. A decent copper bitter.

Handpull cask at the Parcel Yard, Leicester. Brown/amber and clear with a film of off-white head. Redcurrant, forest floor and resinous notes in the aroma, although it's subtle. Tastes lovely with bittersweet earthy flavours and a dry (if too short) finish. Body is a bit watery. A very well-made beer, not terribly exciting but just the thing for a cold September evening.

Handpull cask from the Parcel Yard, Leicester. Very dark brown and slightly translucent. Sweet liquorice notes on the aroma with strong coffee and a touch of cola nut. Sweet taste with chocolate overtones. A light fruity hop provides a bittering balance midway through the sip. Creamy body with blackberry overtones in the aftertaste. An enjoyable classic porter.
