Description
Calvors Brewery was created in 2008 to brew proper English Lagers, without compromise! We have been crafting award-winning beers ever since, becoming known for our distinctive take on the much-celebrated lager styles of Europe. Sure, we're passionate about lager, but we also love a good ale and brew a growing selection of international styles. Calvors beers challenge the flavour and integrity of mass-produced brews and you won't find any of those nasty chemicals or preservatives. We brew by hand using only four ingredients: water, malt, hops and yeast.

Clear deep amber beer, good white head, short lived. Light semi crisp palate. Light sweet malt, just a tad lagerish. Subtle dark malts and dark toffee. Whispers of yeast and red berry fruits. Finishes neutral with some minerals. Not bad! Fairly drinkable!

As ’Premium Suffolk Lager’. Pale gold beer, light suddy head. Light malty nose. Light crisp palate. Light malt - almost creamy. A little tiny bit of hop bitterness. Finishes crisp and zingy but with a metallic taste that skews what is an otherwise decent lager.

Hazy pale gold beer. Crisp palate but not as crisp as you would expect a lager. Very moderate carbonation. Light malt and not much else. Dull as dishwater.

330ml bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring as Calvors Premium Lager at an ABV of 5.0%. Pale straw with a ring of white head and light carbonation; the aroma is of Saaz hops, leafy and slightly spicy; crisp and dry with a fruity apple flavour; and a clean finish. Like the 3.8 this is so much better than the average macro lager.

330ml bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. Pale straw with a thin white head and heavy carbonation; the aroma is sweet, floral and grainy; sweet grainy flavour with some light citrus notes; then slightly drier with a some light grassy hops. Rather delicate and refreshing, and miles away from a mass market lager.
