Description
Calvors Brewery was created in 2008 to brew proper English Lagers, without compromise! We have been crafting award-winning beers ever since, becoming known for our distinctive take on the much-celebrated lager styles of Europe. Sure, we're passionate about lager, but we also love a good ale and brew a growing selection of international styles. Calvors beers challenge the flavour and integrity of mass-produced brews and you won't find any of those nasty chemicals or preservatives. We brew by hand using only four ingredients: water, malt, hops and yeast.

Keg at Rampant Horse, Needham Market. Dark cola brown. Creamy white head. The taste is so low key I'm struggling to describe it - chocolatey. Malty. Lightest bitter. Some sweetness. Light-medium bodied. Creamy. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long and, yes, low key aroma. My favourite Calvors beer so far, despite what my previous comments may suggest. Slips down despite or because of the lack of flava.

Cask at Rampant Horse, Needham Market. Nil aroma, perhaps a floral strand. Dark gold. Insubstantial white head. Light bitter. Quite flowery but let down by underlying boiled veg. Light bodied. Watery. Flat carbonation. Long astringent finish. Bland watery take on an APA.

Keg at White Horse, Needham Market. Vague grassy aroma. Copper gold. A few strands of bubbly white head. Very light bitter with some equally light caramel sweetness. Bitterness more evident into the finish and a malty aftertaste. Light bodied. Thin. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry finish. Drinkable.

Keg at Rampant Horse, Needham Market. Grassy citrus baroma with a sour edge. Gold. Thin creamy white head. Light bitter with some latent sourness and malty base. Light bodied. Slick if thin. Fizzy. Long dry astringent aftertaste. Not too bad.

slightly opalescent golden colour, minimal off-white head;aroma of some fruitiness, slight citruses, bready and caramel notes;taste has the same notes with much less intensity and also with significant metallic bitterness; not that perfect beer...and I can't really find any session IPA-ish note in it...
