33cl bottle from Hopt, France. Pours dark brown, with limited foam, very fine. Aroma is malty, caramel, molasses, figs. Body is fairly full, with average carbonation and quite an alcoholic feeling. Taste is intensely sweet, with limited bitterness. Final is fairly long and malty.

Thuis uit een flesje. Donkerbruin, beige schuim. Goede caramelsmaak, niet te zoet. Aangenaam zachte smaak.

BBD 2021 Smell- medium-strong to strong, malt, caramel, yeast, sweetness, coffee, nice. Foam- medium-thick, malty, caramel, sweet, yeasty, cofee, nice. Head is small, brown in color. Appearance - nice bottle and classic label. While it is somewhat simple but it gives nice look to it, cap is unique as this is the only brew made by them. Clear-ish dark ruby color, no carbonation. From - snifter Taste - malt, caramel, yeast, coffee, some alcohol, roast, weak bitter roast aftertaste. Very nice one, I am pleasantly surprised. Some pulling feel to it, tingling sensation.. I like it. Not as hoppy as some others claim. Would definitely drink again.

Bottle from my local off licence 'Wine Rack'. Pours a murky mahogany colour with a medium sized creamy beige head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, caramel, roasted malts and hints of nuts and brown sugar. Taste is more dry dark fruits, caramel, roasty burnt notes, nuts and also notes of leather and tobacco. Full body with a smooth slightly oily mouthfeel. A burnt roasty bitterness on the finish. Not bad but in my opinion not on a par with the Belgian Trappist beers.

Many thanks for this English Trappist Ale to Jacek Wigier (wineofdreams@gmail.com). No niesamowicie dobrej jakosci piwo. Piekna waniliowej barwy piana, oblepia kieliszek chimay konkretnie, doskonale pachnie owocami suszonymi, daktyle, sliwki, rodzynki. Pairing with Trappista Cheese from Croatia:)
