Bottle shared with the KL Tasting Crew. Poured a hazy medium brown colour with a big frothy off white head. The aroma is caramel malt, nutty, woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter light sweet, with a smooth, rich, light liquorice, alcohol, woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Burnt toffee with banana tones. Very nice. Will keep a case in storage as I think it’ll age well.

Pours a deep hazy dark red that looks like very dark brown when the glass is full. Very murky on second pour. About one finger of quite dense off-white head, scarce retention and lacing. Quite rich aroma shows typical english strong ale notes (caramel and slighlty nutty malts, fruitcake hints, figs) mixed with roasted malts/coffee notes. Taste notes follow the aroma though sadly in a not too polished mode: some sips fell more like classic english strong ale (fruitcake) some more like stout. I don't know exactly how to explain, but when you get one you don't get the other. The beer is nicely warming though, with a good bittersweet balance. Second pour was very murky as mentioned, and it was a bit in taste too. Medium bodied with quite low, delicately fizzy carbonation. Interesting but perhaps perfectible.
