Description
Mount St. Bernard Abbey is the only Cistercian (Trappist) Abbey of Monks in England, and it is the first mitred abbey since the reformation. It was founded in 1835.

33cl bottle from Sip, Tallinn. Pours dark mahogany coloured with a tanned head. Malty aroma with mild roasty notes, dried fruits, caramel and hints of chocolate. Sweet and flavourful, but quite balanced and certainly enjoyable.

330ml bottle from Honest brew. Eye - brown pour, small beige head. Nose - malty, stewed stone fruits, a little earthy, sweet. Taste - sweet, malty, fruity, with boozy kick. Palate - medium body, short sharp carbonation. Very good.

Mörkbrun och disig med tätt skum. Fyllig smak av choklad, kola, lakrits och ekfat. Lite kärv alkohol på slutet. Inte alls tokig.

Dass Trappisten-Biere nicht immer aus Belgien kommen muss, ist inzwischen bekannt. So gibt es jeweils eine Brauerei in den Niederlanden, den USA, Österreich, Italien und in England. Aus dieser englischen Brauerei kommt nun dieses Bier. Es ist dunkelbraum und hat einen stabilen, feinporigen Schaum, der als nette Abdeckung auf dem Getränk bleibt. Es duftet intensiv nach Kardamon, Zimt, Fenchel und Vanille und hat auch dementsprechend tolle Aromen, die besonders im Nachhall gut erhalten bleiben. Das Bier ist zwar süß, aber nicht unangenhem pickig, sondern fein ausgewogen. Ein Bier, das mir wirklich gut gefallen hat.

Mörk bärnstensfärgad vätska. Enkel russinsarom. Maltkropp som tillfredsställer simpla belgare. Okomplicerad, förenklad och oimponerad trappisdubbel.
