Can from Sourced Market. Hazy amber body with a thin off-white head. No visible carbonation. No lacing. Aroma of Digestives and wood. Flavour of watery apple juice and cardboard. Thin body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Soft fizz. There’s definitely something not right with this.

Can from Sourced Market. Hazy amber body with a thin off-white head. Nice lacing. Aroma of caramelised almonds and grass. Flavour of biscuit, rusty metal and pine. Thin body with an oily mouthfeel. Light fizz. As with their Session IPA, this feels a bit weak and diluted.

Can from Sourced Market. Hazy golden body with a thin white head. No visible carbonation. Great lacing. Aroma of grass, pine cone and underripe pear. Flavour has the same qualities as the aroma but with a finish of metal and white pepper spice. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. A solid, peppery Pilsener.

Cans. Hazy golden body with a white head. No visible carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, grain and lime. Flavour of cucumber, lemon and Rich Tea biscuits. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. Very enjoyable. I’ve had this beer twice, five years apart, and I found the more recent rate (3.7) to be much more enjoyable that the previous one (3.0).

Can picked up at the brewery. It pours hazy golden with a thick white head. The taste is sweet, doughy, spice, hay and rich tea biscuits. The taste is crisp, bitter, lemon peel, dough, grass with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate, prickly carbonation. I’m not a fan of the rather sweet nose, but the tastes works for me. Crisp and drinkable.

Keg at the brewery. It pours hazy red-amber with a small beige head. The nose is earthy, brown bread, orange peel, sherbet, muffin, spice and lemon barley water. The taste is toasty, barnyard, earth, decent bitterness, hay, toast, earth and spice with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Good depth and interesting. Nice.

Keg at the brewery. It pours clear golden, minimal head. The nose is earthy, hay, spice, straw, toasted cereals, tinned fruits and mild sweetness. The taste is doughy, spicy, some sweetness, cereal, hay, fruit syrup and decent bitterness with sa dry, spicy finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A touch cloying, but not bad.

Keg at fourPure. It pours deep red-amber with a small beige head. The nose is earthy, spicy, hay, wood, earth, dried fruit, barnyard and dough. The taste is bitter, earthy, brown bread, rice pudding, barnyard, toasty, light warmth, spice and hay with a dry finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Nice bread & bitter pudding about it.

Keg at the rake London bridge. Hazed yellow straw coloured pour with a frothy white head. Aroma is sharp lemon, loose bready malts, straw, low mineral. Not much saison yeast in the aroma. Flavour is flabby bread malts, sharp lemon citrus, orange and some hot alcohol. Finish is not very well attenuated, with slight sweetness, stale malts. Palate is doughy and flabby with moderately high carbonation. Poor saison.

Keg at the rake London bridge. Aroma is Belgian wit yeast in nature with delicate orange, coriander and bready dough malts. Clouded dark orange, murky amber coloured pour with a lasting light cream head that fades. Some earthy notes in the aroma as well. Flavour is relatively crisp, but with doughy wheat malts and a touch of toast in the finish. More orange and spices in the flavour and a semi dry assertive bitter finish. Palate is effervescent and the carbonation massages the tongue. Light chalk on the tongue. Rough earthy bitterness.
