Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a cloudy dark amber with a broken white head. The aroma is rich, fruity and with a little yeast. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a spicy hop bitter, yet surprisingly smooth palate. They went overboard on the Chinook perhaps, but it’s not such a bad beer at all. This one was room temperature and i’d like to try one a little cooler which I think would suit the beer.

Draught @ Rootz, The Hague. Clear orange color, medium to full sized dense, a bit creamy, good lacing white head. Don’t get a lot of arona but the beer is served really cold so that might be it. Taste malts, a bit yeasty, a touch of herbs or spices and some bitterness in the end. A bit fizzy carbonation but it suits the beer imo, medium body. Pretty nice.

Pours clear golden orange with a white head. Aroma of caramel, malt, grain, light citrus and fruit. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Rerate 31/05/2016: the recipe is getting toned down in terms of hops and it’s pretty uninteresting compared to its more hoppy previous incarnation.

Bottled (thanks fonefan!). Amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is fruits, mild tartness and some dry wooden notes. Flavour is wood, vanilla, some floral notes as well as some resiny and grassy notes. Pleasantly balanced, but not really sure how Christmassy this is...

Bottled. Dark color, short frothy brown head. Aroma is heavily roasted, licorice, wheat (you can smell the roasted wheat malt), hint of blackcurrant, coffee. Quite dry and bitter taste, bitterness mostly of the malts, soft caramelly notes as well. Slight high on carbonation. Quite tastefull, pretty good actually, although I prefer chocolat-forward stout and this is more licorice and roasted wheat.

Bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus. Slightly unclear orange color, small white head. Smell malts, hops and lightly sweet. Taste malts, hops, nicely bitter. Hmm it’s ok but there’s just not enough to make it a good IPA. I miss the fruityness and fruity hops. Medium body and carbonation.
