Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a clear chesnut brown with a big frothy tan head. The aroma is yeast and caramel, leading to a medium to strong bitter flavour with some liqourice and roasted malts on the slightly metallic palate. A very drinkable beer, which for me tastes better on the slightly warmer side.

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a cloudy light amber with a broken white head. The aroma is yeasty, leading to a medium bitter flavour with yeast and a little acidity on the rather sharp palate. Quite drinkable, but no classic.

18/VIII/13 - 66cl bottle @ 4de Gents Bierfestival - BB: n/a (2013-893) Thanks to my wife for sharing the glass!
Little cloudy pale orange beer, practically no head. Aroma: very sourish, lemony, some hay, bit zesty, grassy hops. MF: soft carbon, medium to light body. Taste: very sour, lemony, vinegar almost, unpleasant bitterness, not fruity at all, very dry. Aftertaste: lemony, dry, bitter ending. Interesting, but I prefer these styles not blended. A very bitter lambic or a sour IPA are not really doing the trick for me.

65 cl. bottle sampled @ GBF 2013. Blended with Boon lambic. Hazy orange with a white head. Nose is rotting oranges, barn, cleaning products, basement, sweet lemon. Taste is citrus, sour cleaning agents, light tartness, artificial lemon, bitter herbs, old oranges, touch spices. Flat. Was hoping to like this one but alas not for me. Thx! to the RB Crew for sharing.

33 cl. bottle sampled @ GBF 2013. Amber orange with little head. Smell is bitter plastic, floral, slight citrus, candy sugar and touch of chlorine. Bitter plastic taste with floral flourishes, sweet backbone, candy sugar, hint fruity, yeast with some bitter herbs in the back. Plastic body. I can live with this. Thx! to the RB Crew for sharing.

No head, black beer. Sweet-treacle like, bit of herbs like parsley. Sweet, bit fruity (indistinct). Finish has some roasted notes, but not bitter. Feels like rather watery, not-full bodied, certainly for a stout. Flat as a pancake. Bit watery, (too) sweet stout, yet not bad in the end.

Small rim over orange-amber beer. Dry USA hops, but also caramel, maltsyrup, dry herbs. Dry, malty and even grainy. Hops don’t attribute much in the taste, IMO. Bitterness however pervading the finish. Slightly peppery. Light to medium bodied; bit sticky feel. Not bad, but IPA-wise, there’s much better around - including the Netherlands.

Small white head, over fully hazy orange-yellow beer. Citrussy lemony lambic nose, flowery, bit of sulphur. Dry, flowery, faintly hoppy; finish has some spices. Dry, slight dry-out effect. No new flavours, but long-lasting main flavours. Yes. This is a succesfull blend in the right way. Good show, Ruud!
