Rica.

Bottle from the Chania beer bar Rudi's beer house. pour clear orange, with some almost brown notes, creamy very light brown to orange head.Aroma is earthy, nutty malty, spicy hoppy notes. I put it down as Imperial ipa as the bottle said imperial pale but from aroma, I would say it's more like just a strong pale ale, perhaps like the strong belgian ones. Yeast aroma are not at all belgian though. flavor is sweet malty, nutty malty, sweet fruity - sort of like a (flavor wise) mild brown ale, however, the beer has lots of body probably due to the high ABV, alc. is totally hidden, it is super easy drinking, very smooth. I can't place this squarely in any style, closest, even if not close, is probably a strong brown ale.

Bottle. Color: Murky reddish brown, mocha head. Aroma: Malty, caramel, some roasted malt. Taste: Dark malt, some roasted malt, caramel, licorice. Just over medium body, average carbonation. Long lasting dry-ish and bittery finish. Nice Dubbel variant.

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 18 Feb 2024) Reddish brown colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, slightly spicy nose with caramel, dried fruit, raisins, dates and apricots. Malty, vinous taste with notes of caramel, dried fruit, raisins, prunes, dark bread and a balanced spicy bitterness. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Warming and well balanced barley wine. Nice one.

Fraaie rooktoets, karamel, bruine suiker, noterig, gebrande mouten, zit niet zo hoog in de ham/bacon, maar dat is prima. Fraai 👍🏻
