Quite sweet, a little too unbalnced. Flavours aren’t crisp and don’t mesh that well. For an easy beer style it’s well below avg. mikkeller ams

Almost clear deep red amber beer, small pale tan head. Obvious caramel malt nose. Smooth airy palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Quite a simple malt bill for a barleywine. So really a bit too simple. Caramel malts, a little malt cream. Some ripe fruits bring up the back end and energise this somewhat, some mild ripe berries and bruised orchard fruits as well. Light semi dry finish shows a little alcohol spice. Overall it is a simplistic bw but there is enough going on here to make it a good beery companion.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ van Rooij, Culemborg.
Clear dark amber with an off-white head. Caramel and citrus hops aroma. Sweet taste with a dry very bitter finish. Quite old-fashioned West-Coast DIPA, really tasty.
