Description
Gebrouwen door Vrouwen (Brewed by Women) originated as a hobby of two sisters from Amsterdam. They started brewing beer in 2013, at home in a 35 liter pan. They mastered the brewing process through trial and error. Now they know exactly how to make a fresh, sweet and tasty beer. At home they continue to experiment to keep creating new beers. The best beers are brewed in large quantities for everyone to enjoy!

Bottle at home. Slight hazy light yellow with white head. Light spices, lots of sweet malts, honey, some citrus, sugar and almonds. Not that much yeast here, the spices really seem like spices and not yeast. Medium sweet and light bitter. Over medium bodied with medium strong but very fine carbonation and quite some alcohol for the actual ABV.

Bottle at home. Hazy light yellow with bright white head. Banana, bubblegum, strawberry jelly, light lemon rind, spruce, lots of dough, light cream and some dried fruits. Medium sweet. Medium bodied with creamy feel. Nice fruity weizen, better than I expected.

On tap at Jopen Proeflokaal Waarderpolder. Hazy pale golden yellow colour, white head. Aroma stinks like hell, strong lager swamp, grain. Flavour is medium sweet, grainy, alcohol, swampy, nasty alcohol and grainy bitterness. Light to medium bodied. Off or just bad.

0.33 l bottle from ’Tabak’s Wijndiscount & Bierwinkel’, bottled in January 2017. Hazy, pale straw yellow with a medium large, dense, stable, white head. Sweetish, yeasty-spicy aroma of banana, clove and wheat. Sweetish, yeasty-spicy taste of banana, clove, vanilla, some juniper and hints of coriander, followed by a short, slightly bitter, yeasty-spicy finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly spritzy mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Fairly typical Weizen, the gin taste is very subtle which is probably good. Reminds a bit of The Monarchy’s Preußen Weisse. Easily drinkable and refreshing though, quite nice!

Malty, fruity taste with notes of bread, peaches and a balanced grassy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. On the sweet side, but tasty and well made. Quite nice.

Sampled @ Pint Winterbierfestival Gouda, 2016. A bit unclear light orange color, small white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, sweet, floral, blossom, some herbs or spices, some yeast. Average body and carbonation. Meh, not my thing.
