Bottle at Yespr’s. It pours deep brown with a medium yellow-white head. The nose is earthy, wood, brown bread, raisin, fruit loaf, candy, plum skin and toast. The taste is pretty sweet, raisin, sultana, cherry skin, candy, earth, toasty, alcohol kick, some bitterness and jam. Fullish body and moderate, prickly carbonation. A bit sweet for my taste, but decent enough.

Bottle at Yespr’s. It pours darkest brown with a medium beige head. The nose is roasted malt toast, earth, dark fruits, jam, caramel, wood and cola cubes. The taste is bitter-sweet, roasty, toast, brown bread, alright bitterness, candy, caramel and a touch of alcohol. Medium body, moderate+ carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Decent balance and pretty drinkable.

Bottle that RBWG, thanks! Pours a hazy gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of grassy hops with a bit of pine and a bread backbone. Flavor has more pine with the grass more subdued and an earthy grain backbone.

Draught at Whetstone Station, 2/8/14
Pale straw body, high clarity with a medium-sized white head with moderate retention and plentiful carbonation.
Soft esters and clean, fruity hops in the nose. A touch of minerals and a dry, straw-like maltiness. Medium strength, clean.
Dry, balanced flavor mixes well between a light honey-like maltiness and some dry fruit-skin esters (pear, cherry, apple). Light hop spiciness clears the palate on the end while the peppery carbonation brushes away any trace of malt and prepares for the next, highly drinkable sip. Extremely clean with a soft texture and true enough Belgian yeast profile. Certainly accomplishes what it intends to do and seems quite representative of the style.

Draft at the brewery - Chelsea, Boston. Pours clear, honey-amber with a few bubbles for a head; the beer is mostly flat. Rich stuff with signs of mild oxidation, toffee, bread, old wood, mellow leaves, some leathery fruits. Full bodied with soft carbonation and oily mouthfeel. Warming finish with further oxidation characteristics - leather, toffee, well-ripened fruits. Tasty and pretty interesting. But bottles of this beer are wicked expensive.
